Photojournalist Photography - $995

I was a bride not too long ago. Less then a year ago actually... Reflecting back on what was important to me in terms of wedding photography it was getting the coverage I wanted for the price I wanted. At the time I didn't care about having a wedding album and I thought that a wedding album was "old fashioned". I feared I would end up with a cheesie white album with gold embossed names and ugly matted 8x10 prints. You know? The kind our parents had. So, we paid our photographer for his time and talent and walked away with a CD of images and no album. I realize now what a big mistake we made because we still don't have a wedding album. I realize now that if we figured it into the wedding budget I would have a wedding album. Now that the wedding is over with its hard to come up with the extra money to spend on a wedding album. We have so many other things we need to take care of.... like purchasing $100 worth of car parts to repair my Honda. ggrrrr! Anyway, I decided to come up with a wedding package that has the coverage you want without all those little extras. Then you can spend the extra money you would have invested in a print credit and purchase a really sexy wedding album that you will want to leave on the coffee table. I received 457 4x6 prints and where are they now? in the drawer collecting dust.

So, here is the new package:
Photojournalist Package - $995
Unlimited Wedding Day Coverage (I start when you tell me too and stop when you tell me too)
Unlimited Locations
Engagement Session on Location
Bridal Session on Location
Online Proofing/Private Gallery
Wedding Day Pictures on Disc (4x6 proof size)

Then I will pre-design your wedding album and you can help with the design. Using your proof disc let me know what pictures to change or pages to add and we will work on it until its exactly what you want. You can even share the design with friends and family and get their feedback because you never know... they might want a copy too.

Wedding at Fort Douglas Post Chapel

Ah yes, the most popular wedding day of the year. Lucky 7-7-07. Rob and Christin got hitched on this lucky day and luck must have really been on their side because the cloud cover was swelling with rain but it never poured. They got married at the historic Post Chapel at Fort Douglas and then a beautiful out door reception right after. Of course there was the short stop at Del Taco in between the ceremony and reception for some chicken soft tacos. I was honored to be the photographer at such an amazing wedding for two people that are madly in love.

Really pretty ring bearer pillow.

The stained glass windows in the church were amazing.

The guys were acting like bridesmaids.

Look at how cool the little yellow church is with the clouds rolling in.

Having a hard time finding that garter Rob?
The garter toss.

Wedding Trashers

I just had to post this article by Salon.com about the Trash the Dress Sessions.

Quote from the article:
"The past year has seen the rise of a gleefully destructive post-wedding ritual: the "trash the dress" photo shoot, in which the bride models her gown while romping in the ocean, climbing up a fire escape, rolling in the mud, or, in at least one occasion, riding a horse. These sessions take place after the wedding. Sometimes the groom is around; sometimes he's not. The resulting photos often exude a gentle gothiness, like album covers from bands playing the second stage of the Lilith Fair circa 1997."

How many things do you get to keep after the wedding? The RING. the DRESS. the PHOTOGRAPHS.

Here is a photo from the trash the dress session I did on April 21, 2007.

Hal & Kathy

Getting hitch on September 8, 2007.

I had a lot of fun today shooting Hal and Kathy's engagement pictures. We met at the Sugar House coffee shop and took pictures around Sugar House. Then we went over to the 337 Project and we were all happy the building wasn't torn down yet. Kathy was so funny because we walked past the Blue Boutique store and she posed just like the mannequin in the window. Then we walked a little further down and Hal wanted to pose like the male mannequin's wearing speedo's in front of Cockers. You are in for a colorful urban treat. Enjoy.

Utah Boudoir Photography

I did a photo shoot for Stacey today at her house. She is so cute and has amazing eyes. We had fun mixing up the outfits and poses. We even took some pictures of her on their pool table. I'm only posting this one shot because of the nature of the boudoir pictures. I put together a 7"x7" paperback book so she could give it to her husband as a 1 year anniversary gift. I've been told by some bride's that they can't seem to find a salt lake boudoir photographer. Well, look no further!
