"Opie FAR exceeded our expectations! The photography was the most important element of our wedding so I knew that I wanted to hire someone with a lot of experience and talent. Since I live in Texas and got married in Utah, I was a little nervous to book a photographer over the internet. When I found Opie’s website I instantly fell in love with her gorgeous photos. When I contacted her to ask about her availability, I was very pleasantly surprised and impressed by how attentive she was to my questions and how quickly she responded to my emails. Her professionalism was evident from the start.

The day of the wedding we honestly hardly noticed her around (in a good way). She was so professional and discrete during our ceremony that we didn’t even realize she was taking photos. After the ceremony she directed everyone so smoothly which made our family photos go really quickly and efficiently. For our solo shots she had great suggestions and just allowed us to interact with each other naturally so that she could get candid shots. When we first saw the photos online (which were posted in lightning speed!) we were so amazed at how perfectly she captured the day and every little special detail.

Our wedding photos turned out more beautiful than we could have hoped for. We are so extremely happy that we decided to go with Opie. She is truly an artist and her fun, creative, edgy, unique touch is on every picture. We now have the most beautiful and unique pictures to cherish forever that tell the story of our special wedding day. I honestly believe that her work speaks for itself, but we would recommend her 100% to any couple! Thank you so much Opie for blessing us with your talent...we are so grateful!"
Thanks!
Ericka

BEFORE THE WEDDING

Occupations:

Groom: Project Manager at General Electric

Bride: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Student at Mississippi State University

How the couple met:

Six years ago, we worked together at Lockheed Martin in Houston, Texas for NASA’s space program. We have since moved on, but we always cherish our time there because it allowed us to meet and grow our relationship.

How he proposed:

It was a normal night. We took the dog for a walk around the neighborhood lake. We grilled hamburgers and ate together. Then, he drove to a location that has been special to us throughout our relationship, got down on one knee, and proposed. With the ring, he gave me a card that said “every normal day with you is the most wonderful, romantic, special day….I hope you will agree to spend an entire lifetime of normal days with me…”

Bridal shower/Bachelorette party:

A shower in Austin, Texas. The girls wore leis, grilled hot dogs, opened gifts, and drank margaritas by the pool.

Bachelor party:

A weekend in Galveston, Texas. The guys got a couple of hotel rooms close to the beach where they ate, drank, played games, and hung out for two days.

MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT

Bride's answer:

Definitely walking down the isle to our song “Waiting on an Angel” by Ben Harper. Walking with my dad was extremely special to me and then when we turned the corner and I saw my handsome groom’s face the tears started to flow. It was the most special, romantic, intimate ceremony and it could not have gone any better!

Groom's answer:
The wedding could not have been more perfect, or more special, and it’s hard to pick just one most memorable moment. However, watching Ericka walk down the aisle was amazing. She looked absolutely gorgeous and I could not hold back my tears of joy. And when I think about that moment, I still can’t.

HONEYMOON

Costa Rica

A memorable moment of the honeymoon:

Our honeymoon will take place following our reception in December 2009.

WEDDING ADVICE
Our pastor, Bruce Wesley, reminded us that there are some things in life that are highly important, that require us to pause and to recognize with a ceremony. A wedding is a special occasion where a couple and their family and friends can pause, come together, and celebrate with a ceremony. Enjoy this special, once-in-a-lifetime occasion.
