James + Nicole and Jaxson + Ryley

A year ago I shot James and Nicole's wedding on September 30, 2007 at Millcreek Inn. A month ago Nicole contacted me to shoot some pictures of them with their dogs before the dogs passed away. So, last week James and Nicole took Jaxson and Ryley for a walk at Memory Grove and I tagged along to take some pictures. They are both very sweet dogs and Jax is like a big teddy bear. Jaxson has cancer in his leg and his health was rapidly declining. I finished up the doggie pictures yesterday and gave Nicole access to their gallery. She sent me this e-mail:

Opie,
Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!! We put Jax down on Friday and we already miss him beyond words can type so these pictures came at the PREFECT time! They look wonderful!!!! You captured all of our personalities, laughs, and the love we have for the dogs.
Oh I really can't thank you enough!
We are so lucky to have met you. When we have babies we hope you are still in this business!

this post brought tears to my eyes. your pictures are so lovely and I love the emotion. I think it is wonderful they had these images taken to remember their loyal pet. : ) very touching.

It was good seeing you at the park! I'm sad to hear about their dog :( The pictures are wonderful and I'm sure they will treasure them forever.
